Question for Katie:

I live in a condominium with 7 floors directly on the beach. we have some of our elderly residents in wheel chairs occasionaly as well as a guest who has cerebral palsey. They are unable to use the pool or obtain access to the beach.   What would you advise?  Thank you - Charles

Hi Charles,

To answer your question regarding pool and beach access for people who use
wheelchairs I suggest that you do a web search using www.google.com

Once there I just entered in "beach chairs for the disabled" , "disabled access for pools", "swimming for the disabled".

Find your local Center for Independent Living.  Your local Vocational Rehabilitation Department should know this.  Also, contact your local hospital's Occupational and Physical Therapy Department.  I'm sure that they would have the resources you need or they could point you in the right direction.

Good luck!
